Cathrin Weiss and Rovy Branon will speak to School of Education Faculty and provide a guest lecture for Dr. Kele Anyanwu‘s Educational Technology class at UW-Stevens Point on November 4, 2013. The topic for these talks is mobile learning, educational technology, and the use of the AADL MASLO mobile learning platform.
Rovy Branon will present at the upcoming Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) Annual Conference on Friday November 1, 2013 in Anaheim, CA. His topic is Developing a Competency-based Student Dashboard: A Design Case.
This case is part of the work that the AADL is developing in support of the UW Flexible Option.

The Academic Advanced Distributed Learning Co-Laboratory (AADLC) at the University of Wisconsin-Extension’s Division of Continuing Education, Outreach, and E-Learning (CEOEL) welcomes applications for a non-tenure track faculty researcher. The position also includes oversight of the technical staff and projects at the ADL Co-Lab. The position is a 12-month position contingent on funding and performance.
The AADLC is a node in the ADL Initiative (see more at http://www.adlnet.gov) and collaborates with ADL labs in other sectors (e.g. military, workforce) to develop new learning technologies. The AADLC conducts learning technology research and development in academic settings (K-20). Past projects include the development of the MASLO open source mobile learning platform, scenario-based learning tools, augmented reality, and SCORM courses. The AADLC is also engaged in projects to support the new competency-based degree programs at the University of Wisconsin-Extension called the Flexible Option (http://flex.wisconsin.edu).
The highly qualified candidate will have a Ph.D. in educational/instructional technology, educational research, educational leadership, or a related field and some formal leadership experience. The selected candidate will have a demonstrated record of scholarship in his/her field of study and a personal research agenda related to the development of emerging distributed learning technology.
Rovy Branon will be speaking at the 2013 DevLearn Conference in Las Vegas on Friday October 25, 2013 at 8:30am. The title of his talk is Fresh Perspectives in Instructional Design. This talk will be recorded and a link to this recording will be added once it is available.
